Clear answers before you need to ask.

After installing, hold Shift and hover a word to see its definition beside the text. When context matters, continue from the bubble or selection toolbar to ask, translate, or listen. Every shortcut is configurable.

You can currently read English, French, Japanese, Spanish, German, and Korean. The interface and AI answers follow 14 native languages; some dictionary definitions are shown in English.

Local dictionaries, word audio, resurfacing, and the PDF reader work without an account. Email-code sign-in unlocks 200 lifetime AI requests and a sentence-speech preview, links subscription status, and prevents automated trial abuse.

A context explanation, selection explanation, paragraph translation, or voice answer uses one AI trial request. Transcription is included with a voice answer and is not charged twice. Sentence speech has a separate preview pool metered by text length. Local lookup, system word audio, and shadowing are free. A small daily taste remains after the lifetime AI trial is used.

Only when you actively use AI are the relevant words or sentences and nearby necessary content used to generate an answer. Whole pages are not sent by default. Local lookup does not upload page text. See the privacy policy for details.

PDFs with selectable text support lookup, explanations, and speech. Scanned PDFs do not have usable text and are not supported for these features.

No. yabt focuses on immediate questions while reading. Translation is explicit and paragraph-level, and there is no flashcard or review queue.
